Couple of quick updates are live on the server. Likely, you've noticed the HUD is revamped. First off, I killed the letterbox effect. It covers up a lot of the screen and isn't necessary. I moved the player counts to the bottom-right, and whenever the number of players in-round changes, the number briefly flashes orange. The center of the screen is now for the countdown timer only. I added more map information like the rating & run count to the bottom-left.
Hints now appear when a random event starts. Previously, if you were new and you suddenly saw "BERSERK!" pop up on your screen, wasn't exactly clear what was going on!
Lastly, credit for kills now goes to the player who did the most damage, rather than whoever was the last to touch the dying player. A lot more fair. You can expect to see scoring change too in the following week. Score is going up too fast and I may drastically reduce the scale and use kill points for score instead.
I feel that kills are unfair now because when i knock a guy off the map, someone else gets the kills
I tend to agree with baam
Fair enough, but let's not make this political. I think this is a reasonable change that seems fairer to me. Let's test it out and if the consensus is that it was better the other way, we'll switch it back.
After testing the new system, I vote to keep it.
Maybe good idea to reset the scores to 0 since server has restarted back up.
Damage points are score actually, and they are new in v4. So score was reset in that sense.
